"You have purchased your brand spanking new TYROS, you are left for quite some time wondering how on earth you are going to work your way through the thick manual that could also double as a footstool.

For those among us who like to dive straight into the deep end and would sooner avoid the manual opting for the more hardcore option of guess and hope, will soon get to the point where they may have worked the basics out, but are left feeling there is still so much to know!

A company named Simon Smith Explanations Ltd have created a 7CD set of Audio Disks that will allow the concerned TYROS operator of any level to listen and learn from the very basic functions such as selecting styles right up to the more advanced functions like multi track recording."

Hi all
I agree with your Review, James, and have said so on your website quite often, and have recommended it to others many times, particularly in the US where it doesn't seem so well known

My KB is actually the PSR3000 but the principle is the same. The process of learning from an Audio CD, without visual distracion and - using the Pause button - actually carry out the task, rather than watching somebody else do it, is far more effective.

I couldn't get my head round the onboard sequencer till I completed the relevant bit of the course.

As an American friend said, when describing an irritating member of the audience who pretended to play Keyboards - "Somebody buy her a Yamaha and 5 Owner's Manuals with absolutely no help. That ought to keep her out of your hair."

To which I'd just add - 'and no access to a Simon Smith CD'!:)

or do I mean 'principal' - I don't remember!

Age - as the man said "Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul."
